Skywatch Friday- The Frigid Edition
The scene shown is this photo from last Sunday isn't really terribly cold- it's in the mid 20s. The thin clouds veiling the sun are ushering in some truly frigid temperatures, however. As I type this it's -21° F (-30°C) out. It has not been above 0°F (-18°C) in about 36 hours. We will get above zero later today. I hope you are warm wherever you are.

Lovely photo - but I feel your pain, lol. I'm near Toronto and we're getting pretty much the same.
Awesome photo!!
Brrrrrrrrrr
Take care and keep warm!!
It is 28°C here and I have no complains about it!
"muhahahahahaha....muhahahahahaha"
We've been hoping all's well...OUR house wouldn't stand up to that kind of cold. Sorry that Portland's beautiful dry sunny 50 degree days...OUR high pressure is waving clear over to you and bringing down that numbing cold. We'll keep a fire on for you.
Beautiful, stunning, thanks for sharing.
I wish I could send you some of the balmy warm temperatures we have here. Seriously, it's in the 70s! Do you think someone could send us some rain?
I thought about turning the AC on in my car this afternoon.
Doug- we are in Stowe VT for the weekend- to ski- it is -6 right now- tomorrow is suppossed to be better(0-4)-I want to ski- but YIKES.....
Stay warm, Doug! Hug a hubby!
Nows the time to visit sunny HOT SA. :) Just count the days till you are off to Florida Doug, that should keep you warm.

Here's hoping your corner of Siberia is warmer today ;)
it's only slightly warmer in southeast Michigan. Brrrrrrrr!
We will really appreciate summer this year.
People With Cameras- Welcome to the Tapesttry. It's gotten warmer (relatively) here in Chicago today. Hope it has for you, too.
Sara G- Thanks, things are mch better today. Welcome!
Amila- I'll bet it's always nice in Sri Lanka.
Mark- Have you guys lost all of your snow? Your photos from a few weeks ago looked so cozy.
Walker- Thanks and welcome.
Robin- Enjoy!
Homer- Just another perk of living in paradise. I'll be in Florida in 2 weeks, otherwise I would seriously think about heading out your way.
CG- Well don't go and get frostbite. But have fun skiing!
Lem- Thanks. You stay warm too. I hear this is all headed out your way.
Joan- I'm not counting the 12 days until I go to Florida.
Spo- Really looking forward to seeing you guys.
Dave- We were warmed up enough to have the Fen workday today.
Wren- We will indeed. Did you get much lake effect snow out of the arctic blast? Or was it too cold even for that?
I don't care what you say, 20F, about what our lows here have been, is still cold :) Oh, and I'm still waiting for you people up north to send some of your snow down here.
cedrorum- Hi, long time. Good to hear from you. Have you guys really had no snow at all this year? How unusual is that?
I am warm and I have been out birding like crazy. I caught a Plumbeous Vireo eating some kind of green bug at Sweetwater wetlands last week. I'm trying to get caught up on housework, blogging and email. I'm still way behind with more posting and birding to do!
