Goin' to California

My partner and I depart today for sunny southern California. We will be in the desert for the next week relaxing, hiking in the beautiful desert wilderness, and taking lots of pictures. I'll have my laptop and digital camera, and will try to blog from the desert. The picture here is from last year's trip. It's a torote tree at Anza Borrego State Park, one of my favorite places on the entire planet.

I grew up IN the deserts of Southeast Oregon not far from Steens Mountains, the Owyhee Mountains, etc. I do KNOW the beauty of deserts and hope you have a grand time. Especially now, it ain't 120 degrees. Photos will be welcome.

Enjoy your time in sunny So. Cal. The weather has been great. The high pressure has been keeping the skies clear and blue. I've only been to Borrego a couple of times, and it's only two hours from San Diego. I need to explore my "backyard" more often.
