Media Madness

The Emerald Ash Borer has recently been trapped within Chicago city limits. The news has hit the press today. I will be appearing on a panel on Chicago Tonight either this evening or tomorrow evening to discuss this development. Chicago area readers can catch the broadcast on Channel 11. I'll try to post a link after it airs.

I think it is cool that you are getting that kind of coverage. Evidently there are people who watch shows other than Idol.

This can't be good if it will be on the news. I will be looking for the link. Meanwhile, I need your help. I posted some pictures on my blog of an insect that showed up in hoards this morning and is devouring my vlevet mesquite tree. Do you know what it is and if there are any birds that eat it or if there is any eco-friendly way to get rid of it? Thanks.

well, I just followed the link and read the article. It would be sad to lose all those ash trees. Is there any hope? Tree lined streets are one of the beauties of living in the north. I love ash trees and planted quite a few in my yard in Utah. And I agree that to lose a tree is like losing a friend.

Lem- Well, this is PBS after all. I've already heard from all 3 of the people that watched it.

Kathie- I somehow missed your first comment when it came through. Sorry. I've responded over on your blog. And, unfortunately, the EAB may not be a story with a happy ending.
